I’m all set, how do I dye my hair?
Now you’re just a few simple steps away from hair colour excellence. Excited?
In order to achieve an even application, brush your hair thoroughly, divide it into four or five sections and secure with plastic clips. Take each section individually and, using an applicator or your gloved fingers, cover it evenly with dye from root to tip, brushing the dye downwards, covering every part of your hair. Pay close attention to the area behind your ears, which is easy to miss.
Once your whole head is covered, set a timer for the specified time on the box and in the leaflet, kick back, and relax. When the time is up, rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water, and use the conditioner contained within your
Casting Crème Gloss Semi-Permanent Hair Dye kit. This will add a gorgeous shine.
Dyeing your hair for the first time
If you’re dyeing your hair for the first time, the process to follow is exactly the same as above.
You may also want to ask a friend to help you colour the back of your hair the first time around, so you don’t accidentally miss any hard-to-reach spots. As with any beauty regime, the more you do it, the easier it gets!
Dyeing previously coloured hair
If you’ve found your ideal colour and simply want to top it up, you only need to colour the roots. Overlapping colour too much can leave you with darker, uneven patches, and you’ll also use more hair dye than is necessary.
If you’re recolouring your hair to a totally a different shade, use the guide on the back of the pack to see how it will look when applied over your existing colour then follow the steps as if you were colouring for the first time.
